SAP Console is SAP’s solution for providing connectivity between RF / Barcode devices and your SAP system. There isn’t any charge for the product although overall implementation costs can be expensive and you will need a Telnet server to implement.
If you have already implemented SAP Console and it is delivering what you need you may nonetheless wish to consider any or all of the following:
- add additional transactions, without starting another project involving ABAP dialogue programmers
- automate some of the more cumbersome processes in SAP and gain process efficiencies but can’t easily do this with SAP console
- enable your users to benefit from the latest devices with a colour, touch-enabled Microsoft Windows graphical user interface that helps improve operator productivity
- avoid delays or interruptions for issues such as material record locks and enable asynchronous updates to SAP which also improves productivity
- extend RF transactions to other areas of the business, for example engineering stores and/or temporary warehouses.
- enable users to record updates in the way processes are performed, and not how SAP expects them to be done. (Please follow this link for an example).
…then you should consider iQlink's Wireless Warehouse solution.
