PRESS RELEASE
iQlink provides simple
solution to connect BlackBerry users with SAP
Bracknell, England – January 4, 2007 -
iQlink, Sky Technologies' Premier Partner in the UK of
the proven Innerware™ solution that extends SAP to the
remote and mobile workforce, is now helping
organisations integrate SAP applications with the
BlackBerry® Enterprise Solution.
SAP integration is easy with the proven
Sky Technologies Innerware solution, which is built on
an SAP-certified platform that sits and runs within
SAP, providing both standalone (offline) and online
connectivity to SAP systems. iQlink is now providing a
simple method to connect SAP with BlackBerry enabling
organisations to deploy a range of SAP applications from
sales force automation and plant maintenance to time and
expense management.
Paul Viney, Managing Director of iQlink
Ltd. says, "Extending SAP applications through Innerware
to mobile and remote workers via BlackBerry can enable
staff to work more efficiently and save time; for
example, mobile sales teams can check stock and credit
availability, record orders and identify service issues,
while business managers can approve purchase orders and
expenses, and consultants can record billable time and
expenses."
The Innerware solution is designed to be
installed within a corporate network and connect to the
SAP backend system via the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server
software. On a BlackBerry device, users simply navigate
to an icon on the main menu to access a particular
application.
The application is a full Java client, which allows
offline and online functionality. If the user is
out-of-range or a wireless carrier network signal is
unavailable, the user can continue working, and once the
connection is restored, the application will
automatically synchronise with the backend SAP system.
The solution has a 90% functional fit
‘out-of-the-box’, providing organizations with a range
of template solutions and pre-built processes. iQlink
can help businesses implement a complete solution within
1 to 3 months and customers have the benefit of still
using their existing in-house SAP skills throughout the
implementation process.
“Having worked with SAP for over 12
years, I believe this to be one of the best pieces of
integration software I have seen,” continues Viney. “It
is a new and exciting development that can deliver
productivity benefits throughout the enterprise.”
